Chulu West Peak Climbing

Trip Overview Chulu West Peak Climbing

Chulu West Peak climbing is another popular trekking and peak climbing destination in the Western part of Nepal. Chulu West is 6419 meters tall and is situated along the Annapurna Circuit trail. Like the Pisang Peak, Chulu West Peak also lies in the Annapurna region and is relatively short in altitude as well. It is, however, popular amongst the trekkers and climbers as it is a relatively easier mountain to climb. Chulu West Peak Climbing promises and guarantees a lot of adventure along with the opportunity to cross pass the popular pass of the region—Thorong-La Pass. Located at over 5200 meters of altitude, Thorong-La Pass is one of the major attractions that comes along with the Chulu West Peak Climbing. Crossing past several villages in the Manag valley while making your way to the Chulu Peak will also be an enjoyable memory as you will have the chance to mingle and interact with the local villagers of Manang.
Chulu West Peak was first successfully ascended in 1952 by a team of Japanese mountaineers. Since then, the peak has been climbed on many occasions. The Base Camp of Chulu West Peak is situated on a tiny valley that is to the North side of Manang, which happens to be the chief trail towards the Throng-La Pass and the Annapurna Circuit trail. There are several Peaks which are close to Chulu West Peak and some are even counted as the part of Chulu West Peak. Besides Thorong-La Pass, the temple of Muktinath, one of the holy destinations for Hindu pilgrims from across the world, also falls along the return trip from Chulu Peak. Even though, it is an easier peak to climb, you will be assisted by our travel guides throughout the peak climbing.
Chulu West Peak climbing has been planned for 25 days and it is a long itinerary which starts from Manang district, traverses through Annapurna trail and then ends in Pokhara, the popular lake city. The best season for the Chulu West Peak Climbing is from March-July and September-November. It is considered to be one of the most liked and admired peak by the trekkers as it is perfectly appropriate for both the novice and amateur climbers and also for the experienced ones.
