Trekking is the classical and most favored way of exploring the hidden treasures of Nepal. The landscape that varies from the deepest gorge at Kaligandaki to the tallest Mountain of the World- Mount Everest offers various wild experiences of adventure in Nepal.
Trekking in Nepal is the pleasant activity that remains open throughout the year. It has something in store for every adventure loving spirit. It holds several multi- ethnic communities and each of the community has its own culture, tradition, language and ways of living. Nature viewing and familiarizing with the ancient culture and traditions are two major objectives that motivate people to get engaged in trekking.
Walking through the sub tropical forests of Terai and having close encounter with many rare species of wildlife like one horned rhinos, visiting the highland villages and having keen observation of their ancient cultures and traditions and climbing several mountains and peaks are the major attractions of trekking. The gushing rivers, rarely explored lands and diverse species of blooming flowers add charms to the already beautiful Nepal.
According to the nature of the trek, trekking can further be differentiated into the lodge trekking and the camp trekking. Since full services including lodging and food service is provided in camp trekking, it is bit expensive in comparison to the lodge trekking where you will be resting in lodge instead of camp.
Spring and autumn are the ideal seasons for trekking as you can visit any of the trekking regions in Nepal during these seasons. It would be wise to trek to the lower altitude in winter season while you can try the restricted Area Trekking in rainy season as these lands receive no rainfall even in rainy season because of being located in the rain shadow of mountains.
