Located to the north of Kathmandu Valley, Langtang Region is a hotspot among wanderers and prospective trekkers each year. Multiple factors play key role in building an image of Langtang Region as the Eden for trekkers. The prime reason is its positioning. Langtang places itself at a stone-throw distance from the capital city, Kathmandu, which makes the travel easily accessible and the expeditious one, too.
Langtang Gosainkunda Trek promises trekkers a once in a lifetime experience.
A myth associated with the origin of Gosainkunda holds that the lake got manifested when Shiva, the destroyer God, dug the earth with his trident in his attempt to deal with the excruciating pain caused by Kalkut poison, which he had to swallow to save the world. Devotees still claim that they witness Lord Shiva lying asleep in the lake.
