Overview

Lower Dolpo Trek is the Restricted Area Trekking into the secluded territory of Western Nepal to the north of Dhaulagiri Range, where age old Bon Po and Shamanism rituals are still in practice. The foreigners were allowed to gain entrance on Lower Dolpo only after 1990.

Lower Dolpo Trek falls under handful of those treks that can be conducted even during Monsoon season as the entire belt falls under rain shadow of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Mountain Ranges, thus depriving the region from rainfall.

Lower Dolpo Trek at ‘Alpine Zone Treks’ is a 19-day package which starts with an hour of gratifying flight across mountains to the border town and hub station of Western Nepal, Nepalgunj, from where we will be taking another 45minute connecting flight to Juphal that unleashes the 13 days of wilderness adventure trek to the core of concealed Lower Dolpo Region as we set our step towards Dunai, the administrative Headquarter of Dolpo Region.

The enticing voyage surpasses Chepka and Renje to make it to Ringmo Village nearby which exists the exotic turquoise blue Shey Phoksundo Lake. Crossing two high passes of Bagala and Numla, we will advance through the Village of Dho Tarap and Laini to ancient fortress town of Tarakot, which stretches past Dunai to Juphal that culminates our trekking section as we will board a flight back to Kathmandu.
